Where Culture Meets Education

This course is a four years general chemistry course for high school students. The course meets the United States colleges and universities requirements for a laboratory science. Students will investigate the basic principles of chemistry including the structure of matter, the changes it undergoes, and the energy that accompanies those changes. The course will be focused around students learning through discovery and laboratory learning. Topics covered include standard topics of the mole concept, periodicity, chemical energy, reaction rates, acids, and bases are introduced. The application of the concepts of chemistry to societal needs and problems is a very important aspect of the course, thermo chemistry, chemical kinetics and equilibrium, gas laws, solutions and solubility, acids and bases, electrochemistry, nuclear chemistry, structure and bonding and Biochemistry. The chemistry course requires problem solving via dimensional analysis and mathematical rigor and technical reading from a variety of sources.
For the Achievement Test, students must cover the complete courses of Organic Chemistry covered by Arabic Section & given in the Arabic High School.
